DUBAI – Pakistani citizens, particularly from the labor sector, are reportedly encountering difficulties in obtaining UAE visit and work visas as rumors spread about certain Pakistani cities being placed on a “No-Visa List.” Unverified sources allege that residents of cities including Abbottabad, Attock, Bajaur Agency, Chakwal, D.G Khan, D.I Khan, Hangu, Hunza, Kasur, Khushab, Kotli, Kohat, Kurram Agency, Larkana, Nawabshah, Mohmand Agency, Muzaffargarh, Parachinar, Quetta, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Skardu, and Sukkur are facing restrictions due to alleged visa misuse and fraudulent practices by certain agents.

The purported restrictions reportedly affect all types of visas, including business and tourist visas, raising concerns among those intending to travel from these regions. The authorities have stated that these measures are aimed at strengthening the visa process and maintaining the UAE's immigration standards.

However, UAE officials have countered the claims, clarifying that no blanket restrictions on Pakistani citizens based on their place of birth have been implemented. The UAE Consul General highlighted that while social media activity might influence individual visa applications, the reported ban on specific cities is unfounded. He advised the Pakistani community to be mindful of social media conduct, which can sometimes affect visa decisions.

In a gesture underscoring the UAE’s ongoing commitment to Pakistani workers, authorities confirmed that approximately 70,000 work visas were recently issued to Pakistani nationals. The UAE Consul General encouraged expatriates to focus on positive contributions to the UAE and to avoid bringing home country disputes into the UAE environment.

As people from the affected cities await further clarification, many are eager to understand how these rumors may impact their travel and employment prospects in the UAE.
